Here at flower-photography.co.uk we just wanted to give a big shout out to Mike Moats who is a well respected and valued member of the Facebook Flower Photography Group.
Macro photography is the art of making very small / tiny things look big, revealing some of the intricate and beautiful detail that we don't often see with the naked eye. This can be done by getting very close to the subject of your image, or by getting a telephoto lens and zooming all the way in. However, make no mistake, macro photography is not easy! Taking such close up images presents is own set of challenges to the photographer and certainly takes a lot practice, experience and skill to be able to produce quality images.
Macro photography can be of anything really, but there are some particular genres that macro photographers are particularly fond of. Insects are very popular as are flowers.
